What is Sunstock?
Sunstock is a not-for-profit festival featuring solar-powered live music, food, drink, local visual artists, vendor market and non-profit partners with fantastic eco-friendly calls-to-action.
Sunstock's mission is to strengthen the sustainability movement through positive space, connecting music fans and local communities to many of the great environmental organizations and encouraging direct action. We also aim to lead by example in the festival world by being a zero-waste event, using silent and non-polluting solar generators, and never losing our ethos of positive change.
What are the details?
What we can tell you so far is that on October 20th there will be a block party on Gramercy Pl. (north of Hollywood Blvd), probably from 3-11pm, FREE, ALL AGES, and open to the public, and that you should be there. More TBA!
What's the story?
Sunstock is produced by Trapdoor Social, an LA indie/alternative rock band that got into solar-powered concerts in 2015 when we upgraded our touring trailer to one with a built-in solar generator (see below). We started powering our own shows on tour around the country, and when we went about setting up a hometown event, it grew with the energy of the local music scene and environmental movement, calling for a bigger space, bigger effort, and a new name. In 2016, Sunstock was born.
